Demand for airfreight is on the increase

“The normality of the market is not that normal,” says Transport Intelligence (Ti) in its Q2 Air Freight Rate Tracker. Economic growth and evolving global trade structures have introduced uncertain and volatile factors into the air cargo market.

According to Ti’s Global Volumes Index, global airfreight volumes saw a significant decline of 6.4% in Q1 compared to the previous quarter.

Despite declines of 9.2% in January and 6.2% in February, March showed a strong recovery with a 17.4% increase in global volumes compared to the previous month.
