DHS Adds to the UFLPA Entity List

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the addition of two entities based in China to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List. DHS also updated the name of one entity already on the list.

Effective October 2, 2024, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will apply a rebuttable presumption that goods produced by the following entities will be prohibited from entering the United States:

• Baowu Group Xinjiang Bayi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. – Iron ore mining and steel manufacturing
• Changzhou Guanghui Food Ingredients Co., Ltd. – Produces and sells aspartame
• Changhong Meiling Co., Ltd. (formerly Hefei Meiling Co., Ltd Hefei Meiling Group Holding Limited) – Research and development, manufacture, and sales of household appliances
