Impact on Chiang Mai and Our Team
Chiang Mai, Thailand – Thailand’s second city, Chiang Mai (CNX), has been significantly affected by the heavy rains that fell last week, driven by a monsoon. The continuous downpour led to a rise in the water level of the Ping River, which flows through the vicinity of the city’s urban areas. The flooding has impacted various parts of the city, causing disruptions to daily life and operations. Despite the challenges, we are relieved that all of our team members are safe and there have been no injuries reported among our employees.
Chiang Mai office has also faced challenges, with flooding affecting the premises and damage to office supplies. Our staff has been working diligently to restore the office environment and ensure operations can continue smoothly.
Our Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Keeps Us Moving Forward
At NNR, our top priorities are the safety of our team and the reliability of our service. Despite the challenges, NNR Global Logistics’ BCP is fully operational. It helps us navigate this situation while continuing to support our customers. Below is an update on the current status:
- Chiang Mai Airport and Customs are operating normally and have remained unaffected by the floods, ensuring the smooth handling of cargo and customs procedures.
- Lamphun Industrial Estate, home to many of our customers has fortunately avoided the impact of the flood. However, a few customers located outside of the Lamphun area have experienced some disruptions and our team is working closely with them to minimise any delays.
- Our Bangkok HQ and airport office have stepped in to support operations during this time, enabling our Chiang Mai team to work remotely while power restoration efforts are underway.
