Section 232 Derivative Aluminum Tariff Numbers Released

On February 14, 2025, an unpublished Federal Register notice of the Presidential proclamation on Adjusting Imports of Aluminum into the United States was released.

The notice contains Annex I which provides details on the additional derivative aluminum articles that will be subject to the 25% tariff on March 12, 2025. Additionally, the Annex makes an exception for derivative aluminum articles processed in another country from aluminum articles that were smelted and cast in the United States.

Important to note, for any derivative aluminum article below or derivative aluminum article set forth in a subsequent Federal Register notice that is not in Chapter 76 of the HTSUS, the additional ad valorem duty shall apply only to the aluminum content of the derivative article.

We expect more information on this tariff action to be provided in a separate Federal Register notice.
